Examining 'The View from 7th Grade'

Seventh grade is a challenging time for students. The are in the midst of their schooling, on the verge of becoming teenagers, and face daily struggles with school, friends, self-image, and emotions. Students in Ms Jen’s Language and Literature class explored these ideas as they wrote plays for their production of 'The View from 7th Grade'.

Through a five week process of brainstorming, writing, rehearsing, and performing their plays, students demonstrated their ability to create, collaborate, and take risks.

On 3 April 2018 students performed their plays (“It Started with a Pun,” “Friends,” “Exclusion,” and “Reputation”) in the Black Box theatre to an enthusiastic audience full of 7th and 8th grade students and their teachers.
