Deepika Borges Sehgal

Deepika Borges

MYP English Language Acquisition Teacher, Grade 6 Head of Year and NAU PD Lead

Deepika moved from New Delhi, India to Cambodia 10 years ago. She has more than 15 years of teaching experience the English Language  to both children and adults:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature, Delhi University, India

  • Post Graduate Certification in International Education, University of Nottingham, UK

  • Pursuing Masters in International Education, King’s College, UK

Deepika moved to Cambodia in 2009. She loves the country as it has been her home for so many years and continues to amaze her with its beauty, cuisine, friendly people and relaxing beaches.

At Northbridge, she has been actively involved in community services projects for many years,  mainly with Operation Smile Cambodia and providing leadership opportunities to the students.  With a passion for teaching English to EAL students, she coordinated the intensive coaching in English program at Northbridge two years ago and has been working alongside the admissions team for the past 7 years with reference to student testing and placement. Her personal interests in theatre and dance propelled her to direct and choreograph many musicals and dance performances at school in the past.

She has also successfully completed the Middle Leadership Program with Nord Anglia University (NAU) last year and is now the Head of Year for Grade 6 and NAU’s Teacher PD Lead for Secondary School. Currently, she is pursuing her Masters from King’s College which is a fully sponsored degree by NAU and hope that the action research she plans to conduct this year would benefit the school, student learning and teachers' professional development.
