After a welcome address by our new director, Philippe de Korodi, and a reminder of the Foundation’s projects by its president Roland Lomenech, three 8C students explained the mission of the Terre des Hommes house in Massongex (Valais) which welcomes Third World children who come to the house to recover from serious surgery in Swiss hospitals. They responded to questions asked by François Egger, RTS journalist and master of ceremony. The 10B students couldn’t project their presentation due to a last minute technical problem which didn’t keep them from brilliantly presenting their project to support children in Uganda. Steve Domingues’ students of the French Foreign Language section amazed the audience with their progress in French that enabled them to expose the striking contrasts of Mexico and the urge to strengthening access to education in poor countries.
Then came a moment of suspense with the drawing of the golden raffle and its magnificent prizes which are too numerous to list here, followed by the auction of two T-shirts of Stanislas Wawrinka who each reached the sum of 10,000 CHF!
These beautiful highlights, the opportunity to see friends and meet new people, turned this evening into a successful event which ended in music and dancing thanks to our talented DJ.
Many thanks to all the participants and to generous sponsors of the raffle for their support to our Foundation and well done to our organising committee and students for their involvement and reflection on news projects. See you at the next edition of the ball: Novembre 2016!
