I am tremendously excited and appreciative to be accepting a new position at Léman School. Since joining Nord Anglia 4 years ago, I have enjoyed growing with and supporting the Nord Anglia ethos, something which I strongly believe in and advocate. I am now eager to promote this ethos even further at Léman.
Since arriving in Chengdu, I have been enjoying learning about and exploring this wonderful city. I am now extremely excited to meet all the children, parents and staff at Léman school as I have already learnt of how much of a close community you are. I have always valued close relationships with all individuals at my schools, and I cannot wait to be a part of our Léman community.
Educational and Leadership Background
Each class of children I have worked with over my career has left me with something new, something I did not know before. I have learnt from all my students, including ways to support children with SEN needs or EAL. I have worked with students whose homelives have been complex and supported them and their families with strategies to resolve some of their issues. I have constantly strived to create a nurturing learning environment where my children feel confident to explore new topics and are inspired to develop their knowledge.
Each school I have worked in has helped me to grow into the confident teacher and leader I am today. I have always been motivated, ambitious and someone who endeavours to take on more responsibility.Throughout my career, I have proactively sought opportunities for leadership and responsibility and this has been received with further opportunities and admiration of my competence and creativity. Taking on the role of Primary Headteacher and continuing the smooth running of the school until the position was filled is an example of how I bring consistency and stability to any job role. Other examples of recent leadership history include: Key Stage Leader, Maths Coordinator, Interim Head of Primary School, Assistant Head of Primary School and now the Deputy Head of Primary at Léman school. Being a flexible leader is a strength and something I pride myself in.
In my personal life, I enjoy nothing more than travelling to unusual and exciting places, learning about new cultures, languages and history, and embracing diversity. In my spare time, I relish meeting new people and I also have a colossal passion for all things theatrical. Frequently, you will find me planning a trip to the local theatre to be entertained and thrilled.
I look forward to meeting with all the Léman family very soon.
