Kathleen Woods

Katie attended the University of Northern Colorado where she obtained a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in English, as well as, a K-6 teaching license.

Katie is from the USA where she grew up in Denver, Colorado. She attended the University of Northern Colorado where she obtained a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in English, as well as, a K-6 teaching license. From a young age, Katie knew that she wanted to be an educator; instilling a love for learning, not only locally but on a much wider scale, globally. She has spent most of her time as an international educator; in Mexico, Tajikistan, Kuwait and China. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, DIY projects, and playing tennis.

As a passionate and reflective educator, Katie believes it is her job to pique student curiosity by facilitating engaging learning activities, afford students ample opportunities to participate, and give them additional support when necessary.  Equally important, students should be given a balance of learning through inquiry, as well as, through structure and routine.  Students should be provided a safe learning environment where they feel happy and confident to participate in their educational voyage, while striving for character development and reflection.  Through high expectations, modeling, building rapport, inquiry, creativity, and character education, students can be immediate and positive members of society.
