Katie comes from beautiful New Zealand, where she has worked as an Early childhood teacher for 15 years. She has teaching experience in a range of philosophies and curriculums including, Montessori, IB, Reggio Emilia and now, The International Early Years Curriculum.
Along with Early Childhood education, Katie has also studied Environmental Sustainability and Captive Wild Animal Management. The combination of these fields of study and philosophies means that she can bring knowledge of important issues to the classroom, teach children how to think critically, be empathetic, develop their own working theories about the world around them and express these in creative and meaningful ways. She works to develop a classroom where children are ambitious inquirers, confident communicators and has a positive attitude toward learning.
