Tessa Butler

Tess graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Education, majoring in Primary, at James Cook University.

Tessa graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Education, majoring in Primary, at James Cook University. She is currently studying her Masters of Education, majoring in Leadership and Management, at Queensland University of Technology. Tessa grew up on the Gold Coast and also began her teaching career there, at Trinity Lutheran College. During that time, Tessa was a Year 6 core teacher. She was responsible for teaching English, Maths, Humanities, Science and Christian Studies. She has also been involved in Kokoda Challenges, inter-school sporting events, school camps and sports coaching.

Tessa is interested in Carol Dweck’s theory of a growth mindset. This is the belief that intelligence can grow through effort and persistence. Within the classroom she focuses on building the student’s growth mindset. We celebrate mistakes, embrace challenges and believe in our abilities. Tessa believes this mindset is the foundation for future success.
