Ivy Ji

Ivy Ji

Subject Group Leader of Chinese

Ms. Ivy Ji graduated from Beijing Language and Culture University with both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. She has been teaching Chinese as a second language since 2006. This includes 4 years teaching Primary and Middle/High school students at international schools in Beijing and 8 years at Léman International School in Chengdu. She has been teaching IBDP Chinese A, DP Chinese B and MYP Chinese A courses since August 2014 at LIS.

In non-native level classes, Ivy is very enthusiastic about Chinese teaching and wants to make learning meaningful.  In the class, she tries to simplify the grammar and structures to motivate students to improve. She also provides opportunities for students and international staff to gain a better understanding of Chinese culture.  In native level literature classes, students could always enjoy the beauty of literature and reflect the deep thinking of the works though active discussions with the class and the teacher, which motivate students’ interest and love to literature.

Ms. Ivy Ji likes reading books and travelling with family and friends.
