Sam originally comes from the UK, and is a graduate of Electronic Engineering. For teaching, he first qualified as an English teacher through the CELTA qualification in the UK, before running an English Tuition Centre as part of an International School in Malaysia. After his contract there, he returned to the UK to become a fully qualified teacher by doing a PGCE at the University of Huddersfield. He worked as a Primary teacher for 5 years in the West Yorkshire area.
His love for teaching English continued, which led him to teach ESOL at Leeds City College for another 5 years. Wanting to return to international teaching, he then travelled to Brunei Darussalam to teach English in the Secondary sector. During that time he qualified as an IELTS examiner, and achieved the higher DELTA course.
Sam has a keen interest in languages, and is a fluent Malay speaker. Also in his spare time he enjoys music, walking, hiking, and even a bit of Tai Chi.
