Country Day School - Melody Herrera

Prep Assistant

I was born in Costa Rica in 1992. Since I was a little child and through the experiences of my personal and interpersonal life I realized that my passion was to support other people’s lives. I graduated as a Social Worker from Universidad de Costa Rica in 2016.

During the last years of my studies I found out how much I was passionate about speaking out and defending the rights of children, including the right to Education; so I decided to direct my studies towards Administration of Informal Education, as a possibility to aboard special education needs of different populations.

In 2019 I began working as a substitute teacher in CDS. In 2020 I moved to a teacher assistant position in Pre-Kinder, and in 2021 I became a Prep teacher assistant. I really enjoy being witness to the process of personal discovery and of the surrounding environment, as well as the academic and human progress that children at CDS make, and feel very grateful to be a part of it.
