My career as a Guidance Counselor started in 2000 when I began working at Gulliver Schools, my alma mater, in Miami, Florida. At that time, I worked with Middle School students and formed part of the administrative team at Gulliver Academy. Following Gulliver Schools, I moved to Bogota, Colombia where I also worked as a Middle School Counselor in the American School, Colegio Nueva Granada (CNG). The last couple of years, I formed part of CNG’s Elementary School Learning Center team, working as a Learning Center Specialist and providing academic interventions to students in grades 3-5.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Miami (1997) and a Master of Science in Education in Mental Health Counseling (2000) from the University of Miami. I have a teaching certificate for Guidance and Counseling (K-12), and Prekinder/Primary Education (Age 3-Grade 3.). I also had the opportunity to complete a Graduate Certificate in Inclusive Education from the University of Kentucky (2016).
I love the outdoors, especially hiking, and all ocean-related activities. Snorkeling is a passion I share with my family. I am looking forward to working and collaborating with a new group of professionals and diving into new professional learning opportunities.
