Irene Asch

Irene Asch - Country Day School

Second Grade Teacher

I  began my teaching career in 2000 at a Costa Rican private school as a third-grade teaching assistant while I was finishing my Bachelor’s degree in Bilingual Preschool Education at “Universidad Latina”. The following year I completed my practicum at a preschool level and started a Child Psychology emphasis at “Universidad Internacional de las Américas”. Simultaneously, during summer and winter breaks, I completed a Masters of Education from Framingham State College. I gained much experience over the ten years I worked at Lincoln School and in concluding my studies.  In addition, I have participated in many educators’ conferences, seminars and workshops from different organizations such as: NAEYC, Association of American Schools of Central América, Harcourt, and Cambridge.

I worked for 4 years in Elementary as a First Grade teacher at Saint Paul College where  I was in charge of the math curriculum from my teaching level. In 2015 I returned  to Early Childhood at Country Day School and in 2021 back to elementary as a second grade teacher.

I have lived in Costa Rica my entire life and I love everything about my country!  I don’t have children myself, but I love to have a lot of little ones around filling my day with smiles, laughs, and innocence! During my free time, I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes. I also like to go to Zumba classes or indoor cycling. I occasionally go on bike rides and long walks; I love getting out in nature.
