My educational career began in December of 1989 when I received my Bachelor’s degree in English as a Second Language at the National University of Costa Rica. I worked for two years at a private school teaching English as a second language.
In 1990 I began working at CDS as a teacher/assistant and later as a preschool teacher.
In 1994 I was fortunate to have the opportunity to teach Spanish as a Second language in North Carolina, U.S.A in a public school. I remained in this position for three years; where I was not only working as an ESL teacher, also serving as an Ambassador of my own culture.
In 1997 I returned to Country Day School as a Kindergarten teacher.
I received my Master’s degree in International Education from Framingham University in 2012. In 2013 I became the English Language Development teacher for Early Childhood. The goal of this position is to support Early Childhood English Second Language learners. This change has truly helped me implement dynamic and engaging lessons aimed to help beginner students acquire English skills within small groups.
Outside of school life, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the movies, visiting new places, and running. I have two amazing grown-up girls Daniela who is 23 and Camila who just graduated from Country Day school this 20202. Two great pets: Nala and Oliver. This school year, during virtual teaching I am co- co-teacher in second grade with Irene Goicoechea. I am very excited about working at this elementary level.
