Ysabel Ortiz

Ysabel Ortiz - Country Day School

Fifth Grade Teacher

Hi! My name is Ysabel Ortiz and I believe in educating, encouraging and forming our future global leaders. This will be my first year teaching at Nord Anglia's Country Day School; however; my 8th year teaching elementary school.

I was born in Caracas, Venezuela and move to the United States at the age of 8. I graduated from FGCU with my bachelors in Education. I'm currently working on a masters in Communications.

I taught in Florida for 7years. I have experience with the first, third, fourth and fifth grade. students. I worked with the Florida Department of Education to build the teacher state assessment last year. This is a statewide test that all educators must take in order to receive their elementary k-6 certification. I'm certified k-6 elementary, ESOL k-12grade, and reading k-12 grade. I have also worked with CPALMS and FAU in creating math lesson plans for universities and schools across Florida.

I do not have children of my own but I’m a proud aunt! I love to travel and spend time with my nephews. I’m excited to spend the next year learning and growing with my new wonderful students in an international school.
