I graduated from San Francisco State University in 2013, where I earned my BS in Chemistry. Directly after graduating I began working in a laboratory for small startup company that created glucose meters. During this time I was able to understand how the research and development process was used to perfect their system, and I also became familiar with general Standard Operating Procedures of a working laboratory. I decided to move into another medical laboratory several years following this, and aided in moving their working laboratory from Utah to California. During this time I learned more about Quality Assurance and managing a laboratory to follow Best Practices.
While my time in the medical industry allowed me to hone my laboratory skills, I decided to go back to school and obtain my Single Subject Teaching Credential. Deciding to teach was based on a love for the subject of Chemistry, but also for the connection to growth-minded individuals - including students, peers, and administration. I completed my teaching credential in June 2017 and obtained my first teaching position at Country Day School in Costa Rica. I am teaching Chemistry and AP Chemistry for my second year.
Since living in Costa Rica for this past year, I have been enjoying the natural landscapes that the country has to offer, especially the beautiful beaches and volcanoes. I am also an avid musician, creating my own music during my down time.
