As a certified secondary English language arts teacher in both Canada (my home) and the USA, I also come with an MAED (Master of Arts in Education) in secondary literacy from Michigan State University. To complement my teaching credentials, I also have training and experience with IB-MYP (International Baccalaureate - Middle Years Program) and have been developing my own knowledge and insight with executive function skills through coursework, training, and now providing workshops and coaching both in and out of the classroom for students, parents, and teachers.
Being an executive function coach has allowed me to share valuable strategies and tools in time management, organization, and planning, guiding my students to succeed both in school and in life.
Being an international educator for 20+ years has allowed me to grow both professionally and personally and my desire and passion to learn is something I strive to instill in my students. It was the mid-90s that I was introduced to life outside of Canada and began my first adventure with studies at La Sorbonne University in Paris and from there, my journey continued. I have studied and taught in Paris, France; Kangrueng, South Korea; Maine, USA; NB, Canada, Izmir, Turkey; Kuwait; Shanghai, China and now Costa Rica. My exposure to cultures around the world has been and continues to be, an education within itself – and I wouldn’t change a thing.
