Natalie Vacirca - Country Day School

English Teacher and Instructional Coach

I was born and raised on Long Island and graduated Cum Laude from Barnard College, Columbia University in 2007 with a B.A. in English and a concentration in American Literature.  In 2010, I completed my Masters of Arts in Teaching of English at Teachers College, Columbia University.  No stranger to expatriate life, from 2010-2014, I taught Upper School English at Taipei American School (TAS). At TAS, I taught several courses within the Upper School English Department including American Literature and English 9 and coached Original Oratory and Model United Nations.

After repatriating from Taipei in 2014, I taught Humanities at New Visions Charter HS for Advanced Math and Science II in the Bronx, before moving to the Stanwich School in Greenwich, CT where I taught World and European Literature, advised the yearbook committee, and coached Model United Nations. I come to The Country Day School from All Saints’ Episcopal School in Fort Worth, Texas where I taught within, the lab school-type program, the Honors College as well as Honors and on-level 9th and 10th grade English.  I am passionate about travel and spend much of my free time doing so.  I enjoy biking, photography, seeing live music, and (of course) reading!
