As a former health planner and researcher with a Masters in Health Administration and Planning, my passion for learning and research started me on the teaching path where I earned a Masters in Teaching.
I find teaching inspiration from educational research on the Growth Mindset, Visible Learning as well as the Mindful Schools’ Project, and I believe in the ability of every child to learn and succeed in meeting high expectations. I enjoy all aspects of teaching and learning, with specific interest areas in innovative instructional methodologies such as design thinking, as well as computer programming and technology, and I recently earned a Google Educator certification.
I’m most passionate about the UN Global Goals and empowering children to build a better future. I’m also a strong supporter of the value of diversity and importance of inclusion in the classroom and throughout the school.
I’m a mother to three children, two college-graduate sons, and a high school daughter. I’m an avid runner and marathoner who values the importance of healthy living and life-long learning. I enjoy traveling and have visited countries throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, and I’m excited about exploring Central and South America. Since moving to Costa Rica, I’ve been enjoying swimming and studying Spanish.
