During an action-packed 3 years I helped lead Key Stage 2 through their successful CIS accreditation and further developed my own teaching practice within a truly international setting. The Middle East was my next calling where I spent the following 10 years teaching and leading at Doha College in Qatar before moving to Compass International School. This was my first taste of the Nord Anglia Family and I was given the exciting opportunity of further developing my leadership skills by taking part in their Senior Leaders Programme.
During my teaching career, I have held numerous leadership positions, including Year Leader, Key Stage Leader, English Leader and Assistant Head positions. When I received the offer to become part of the Year 2 team at BSG, I was delighted to accept. My students’ progression and enjoyment of their lessons is my utmost priority as a class teacher and a leader. Developing children's global awareness, their self confidence and the ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment is something I am passionate about. I feel priviliged to be a part of your child's learning journey and hopefully, along the way, we'll enjoy many good stories.
I originally come from Northern Ireland and although I love travelling, it's always good to go home and see my family. My husband, Dean, our two children, Kieran in Year 10, Kayla in Year 7 and our little dog, Pebbles will be accompanying me to Guangzhou. We are very excited about the opportunities to travel within South China and the chance to introduce our children to the joys of this part of Asia. Travelling allows me to experiment with my camera and sample the many different foods that can be found in this part of the world. When not working or travelling, there's nothing I love more than curling up and getting lost in a good book.
