MA, PGCE
I began my teaching career ten years ago, via the Teach First programme in Birmingham, where I also completed my Masters in Educational Leadership, conducting action research into Gifted and Talented provision, as the school’s Aim Higher coordinator. I then moved to London, where I was a Leader of Learning, planning and delivering Initial Teacher Training for new teachers in the Croydon Hub. Since then, I’ve spent the last three years in a bright and colourful international setting, teaching in Thailand! Here, I was fortunate to work with wonderful students, developing my pastoral skills, as Head of Year 8 and then Year 9.
I’m hugely excited about starting my tenth year in the profession in bustling China and love the range of Literary texts on offer at BSG for students to study. Specifically, I’m looking forward to exploring the iGCSE World Literatures and the A-Level syllabuses with students in the beautiful green campus at BSG.
Aside from my love of literature, I also love to wander art galleries and watch the ballet. I look forward to visiting the Symphony Hall in Guangzhou and to frequenting the tea houses, with a book in hand, inbetween travelling and exploring. Inspirational colleagues in Thailand introduced to me trail running and I recently completed two half marathons – I hope to keep this up in Guangzhou! I dream of visiting the many beautiful regions of China and look forward to the adventures ahead.
