Biography

Heather is a fun and active teacher who aims to instill a lifelong love learning and curiosity in her pupils. She uses a hands on approach in the classroom and seeks to give her students the skills to succeed in an ever-changing and globalizing world. Heather achieves this by incorporating practical activities into her lessons wherever possible. She builds personal relationships with the children she teaches and works hard to create a classroom atmosphere that adapts to the needs of all pupils.

Having qualified as a teacher in 2013, Heather dived right into international teaching by moving to Egypt to teach Years 1 and 2 at The British School, Al Rehab in Cairo. In 2016 she moved to Kenya to teach Year 2 at Braeburn School in Nairobi. Heather has experience running a variety of ECA’s such as book club, golf club and swim club. During her spare time in Kenya, Heather volunteered with a local children’s home, working to improve the children's English language skills.

Heather enjoys travel and the outdoors. She has visited over 55 countries and successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. In her spare time, Heather enjoys reading, golfing, volunteering and spending time with her friends and family.
