Our passionate team has extensive experience in international schools, which they’ll use to broaden your child's unique understanding of the world. They’ll do this through one-of-a-kind learning experiences delivered right here in Yangon, Myanmar.

Our core teaching team is supported by our excellent teaching assistants. Each assistant holds a bachelor's degree or higher, has boosted their skills through Nord Anglia training, and has in-depth knowledge of working with children in English.

Alison Fox
Principal
Alison leads our advanced, safe, and vibrant learning environment, helping our team to nurture each child's strengths and passions. She’s been a leader in international education for more than a decade.

Alison has taught and led teams in both international and UK schools. These include two other Nord Anglia schools, The British International School Bratislava and The British School Warsaw, as well as an Ofsted outstanding girls’ Grammar school in the UK.

Before she became a teacher, Alison worked for an international airline and British embassies in the cities of Beijing, Dubai, and Casablanca. Alison has lived in China, Iran, UAE, Slovakia, Poland, and Morocco, and has an MA in Education, focused on leadership and management.

Karen Simpson
Head of Secondary and History Teacher
Karen is a passionate teacher who loves working with students in the classroom. She’s also been a leader in international education for more than 20 years, helping learners unlock their potential while nurturing their strengths and passions.

Karen has taught and led teams in international schools across Asia. Prior to joining us at BSY, Karen was an IBDP Coordinator at NAIS Hong Kong. She’s passionate about teaching and learning, and enjoys challenging our students to be independent, open-minded, global citizens. 

Karen brings a wealth of qualifications to our Head of Secondary role, including a BA (Hons) in Social and Economic History from Manchester Metropolitan University, and a PGCE, TEFL Certificate from Liverpool University in England.

Beyond teaching, Karen loves to embrace one-of-a-kind experiences that broaden her understanding of the world.

Alex Noonan
Head of Admissions and Marketing
Alex connects families and students to our transformative experiences, so every child can take on life with great curiosity, confidence, and courage. He has worked in marketing and admissions in international education for more than 10 years.

Alex has worked in the marketing and admissions of international schools for more than a decade. He joined us at The British School Yangon from Compass International School in Doha, Qatar, having previously been their Head of Marketing and Interim Director of Admissions and Marketing.

Alex’s qualifications include a BA in Political Science from Carleton University and a Business Marketing Diploma from Algonquin College, both in Ottawa, Canada.

Alex loves being a part of the global Nord Anglia Education family, working closely with families to create lasting memories for all our students.
