On the 23rd November, the Regents community came together to celebrate Loy Krathong. This traditional festival is celebrated every year to pay respect to the river goddess, Phra Mae Khongkha.

The day kicked off with a whole school assembly, which was open to for our parents to join. The Sports Hall was at capacity, with over 1,200 people in attendance. There were Thai musical performances by our talented student musicians, blessings given by visiting monks and traditional dances performed by our Thai community. Everyone embraced the day by dressing in vibrant and colourful Thai costume!

After the assembly, our students floated krathongs that they made out of banana tree trunks and flowers on the school swimming pools. The act of 'loy krathong', which translates to 'to float a basket', signifies letting go of the bad and welcoming the good for the new Thai lunar calendar. Students also had the chance to play traditional Thai games and eat a delicious lunch.
