Summer Concert 2019 06 June 2019 “It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure, that we welcome you tonight!” For two nights parents were invited to Be Our Guest of this year's summer concert, under the theme of movie magic. For the last concert of this academic year all our primary and secondary performing arts teachers worked together to incorporate Dance, Drama and Music into one show to celebrate the creativity here at Regents. Our Drama students performed Melodramas and short stories, along with contemporary and hip-hop dances from our primary dance students and both primary and secondary orchestras and choirs performing some of the most celebrated movie songs and soundtracks. With popcorn, drinks and candy floss on sale before and during the show, a full cinematic experience was offered to parents and students watching the concert. Over 200 students were preparing and rehearsing for the big nights since February. Rehearsals have been running in lessons and during CCA as well as a weekend rehearsal 2 days before opening night. These Concerts are a whole school effort and I thank everyone in our community, especially the Performing Arts Faculty, who have contributed to making this ambitious project a success. Ross Gerritsen, Head of Performing Arts Well done to all the students, teachers and staff involved in this concert for a truly magical movie night! A big thank you to all the parents supporting their children in their creative learning, may that be through music, dance or drama.
