Year 13 students Dae Hwan, Ross and Luis all officially completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's International Award at the start of this term.

The International Award consists of four parts. Similar to the CAS (Creativity, Activity and Service) aspect of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).  The sections are: voluntary service, physical recreation, skills and adventurous journey.

It is useful for students to familiarise themselves with these areas prior to beginning their IB diploma. The International Award also requires students to reflect on their experiences much like the IB diploma. The Regents students took part in activities such as sailing, hiking, swimming, volunteering to care for horses, teaching football and Taekwondo.

The students said that they enjoyed participating in the Award and believed that they had learnt important friendship and teamworking skills along the way. They also said that with more time they would definitely consider undertaking the silver and even gold awards.
