Such was the excitement of getting together as the BISS Pudong Alumni for the first time, our CEO of Nord Anglia Education, Andrew Fitzmaurice, took time out of his busy schedule to pop in to say a few words and award Laura Nikodem with the first alumni badge. Andrew’s words were a reminder of how far this school has come, from starting as a small villa 12 years ago, to the modern campus it is today.
It was time to reflect and celebrate how far we have come and I’m honoured to have shared the evening with both Mark Wilson VP and Patrick Horne my predecessor. Whilst not able to stay for the duration of the evening, Terry Creissen, Principal from 2007 to 2012, also popped in to say hello.
Obviously, arriving in the school after the group ranging from 2009 to 2014 graduates had already departed; this was the first time I had met with this group of young adults making their way into the world of professional study and work. I felt inherently proud despite not having played a part but, more importantly, inspired and enthused by the energy, creativity and zest for the future these young adults possessed. It’s clear BISS Pudong holds a very special place in their hearts shaped the young adults they are today and provided opportunities way beyond their expectation which they have thrived on.
It is clear the role we can play in providing future networking opportunities by facilitating evenings such as this, with interviews for Goldman Sachs looming and internships across a range of companies and international locations, the future clearly is in very capable hands.
