From the deep sea carnivore Plesiosaurus, to the herbivore Brachiosaurus, we saw an array of dinosaur exhibits and bones on display. The children were amazed by the sheer scale of the dinosaurs and we approached many of the full scale models with trepid excitement. A particular highlight of the trip was the animated T-Rex that could be heard on our approach. As all of the children crept past, the T-Rex sprang into action, sending thrilling squeals of anticipation around the building. The trip was a fantastic way to consolidate all of our learning about dinosaurs. Museums provide multi-media experiences; therefore, learning is enriched and reinforced with sensory and stimulating exhibits. It was a fantastic way to stimulate curiosity and actively engage all of the children with our learning so far. I’m sure the children were as enthusiastic as we were about the museum and they shared their experiences of the day with you. The children’s behaviour was impeccable and they really showed just how grown up they are in their new Reception class. Thank you to our parent volunteers who helped us on the day!
