Information and Reminders

Thank you to those parents who came into school to speak to the children about their cinema experiences. The children really enjoyed hearing about your first cinema trip. They have shown great enthusiasm towards our new topic, we hope they have been sharing their new found knowledge with you at home.

In English this week, the children will be creating their own brochure about the features of a 4D film focusing on the effects, colour and use of technology. The children will watch a 4D movie and compare it to films produced in the past. They will be encouraged to use their communication skills to discuss how film has changed over time.


This week, we will continue to explore and investigate capacity and weight. The children will use their knowledge of standard and non-standard measures to solve different measurement problems. They will be encouraged to show their working out and explain the reasoning behind their ideas.

We will recap adding, subtracting and sharing numbers as well as recognising 2D and 3D shapes and their properties.


The Personal Goal we will be focusing on this week is 'communication'.

As we continue our study of filmography, the children will be looking at how technology has recorded important events. There will be a discussion about why we record important events and what was important about these times. The children will use this knowledge to make their own timeline.

As ‘Historians' we will organise different important events into chronological order. The use of secondary sources such as paintings and photographs will be used as a stimulus.
