There was further cause for reflection, praise and comradery on Friday in the Year 13s final assembly to which the Year 12 students were also invited. With motivational talks from Mrs Howard and fond reflections from form teachers and students, this is a year group that is characterised by their diversity and acceptance of such. Their vim and vigour shines through in all that they do and this was no less the case on Friday when the day ended with dancing, hugs and a few tears between friends. We wish them all the very best of luck in the IB exams and have been impressed so far by their positivity and support of one another.
Our final celebration of the fortnight ended on Tuesday with the Tanzania assembly led by our fabulous Year 12 students. Mrs Kilpatrick sang the praises of those who took part on the trip and so ably and positively engaged in the service they provided to the Tanzanian village, such as constructing goat sheds and building staff accommodation. Their reflections on their time in Tanzania truly reflected the change that this experience had made to their lives and inspired the younger students to get involved.
With Year 13 now on study leave, the IB Academy seems quiet but it is a great opportunity to focus further on our Year 12 students and all their plans for the future.
Higher Education
The Year 12 students are currently focusing on higher education in their Guidance session and all have been allotted a 45 minute one-to-one interview to discuss their ideas and options.
Year 13 students should ensure that they have responded to UCAS if they have applied to study in the UK after graduation detailing their first and insurance choices.
Global Campus:
VISUAL ARTS COMPETITION
The Visual Arts competition is open! Students have the opportunity to illustrate stories and poems by students from other schools within our global family. Please encourage your students to choose different stories from one another as this will increase their chances of being chosen.
