The SWAT Team

05 May 2016

The SWAT (Students Working to Advance Technology) Team is a group of Year 6 students who are ready to be called upon to any area of the Primary school in order to support the use of technology. They are confident users of a range of devices and applications and together there is no mission they will not accept!

The NAIS Pudong SWAT Team includes Harry, Giorgio, Josh, Araya, Adrienne, Ben, Ciro, Thibault and Silvia.

As part of Year 1’s current IPC topic Time Travellers, the children have been celebrating 120 years of filmography by watching different black and white movies in the style of Charlie Chaplin. They have also been exploring the term 'slapstick' comedy but did not know how to create their own. So in came the SWAT team! Their mission was to support Year 1 children in recording and editing their own 'slapstick' comedy using iMovie on the iPad.

The SWAT team were split up into the three Year 1 classes and supported children in using the app effectively, making the films look authentic. The Year 6 children were fantastic in their explanation of how to edit and add special effects and music and most would agree that the final films are fantastic!

If you have a tech problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The SWAT Team.
