English
In English this week, the children will begin to look at inventions of the past as they decide which historical invention they feel contributed the most to society. Attention will be spent on discussing and ordering phrases related to time. The children will create their own timelines to demonstrate their understanding of the topic.
This week, the children will be treated to a special parent presentation about the evolution of cars. Prior to the talk, the children will compose a list of questions they would like to find out the answers to.
Mathematics
This week, we will be revisiting 2D and 3D shapes. We have a fun-filled week planned for the children in which they will get to explore and investigate shape names and their properties. The week will culminate with the children making their own cars using 3D nets.
Topic
The Personal Goal we will be focusing on this week is 'Adaptability'.
This week, will be exploring inventions of the past related to transport. The children will use this knowledge to create their own invention, which will be sketched and labelled.
Following on from this, we will begin to make our own stop-motion pictures to complete our study on filmography. The children will use a specific app to help them create their own films which will be aired during our exit point!
