Teamwork Thursday

26 August 2016

The House system really took off with a bang yesterday as students participated in Teamwork Thursday! The idea of the afternoon was to initiate a sense of collaboration within the houses and really emphasise the message of teamwork throughout.

Students took part in six teambuilding activities in their year groups and competed for points in their houses. The six events were; Cross the River, Square Dance, Rolla-Ball, Mat Manoeuvre, Hula-Hoop Challenge and Stop the Clock. The activities tested the students in various ways and ensured that teams were not able to rely on one person – the strength of the team would be key to success. The games aimed to develop mental and physical strength, logical thinking, communication, organisation and leadership skills and it was a testament to the students here at NIAS as to how well they did and their attitude towards getting involved.
The house system is a great way to develop many different skills and the collaboration between students and overall benefits of healthy competition cannot be overstated. Dao were the overall winners of the afternoon and took home the most points. However, it was close and the year is set to be an exciting and competitive one. The students are motivated and excited, and every day house points are being awarded in and outside the classroom – demonstrating the fantastic work and performance that our students here at NAIS are capable of!
Let the games begin!
