Information and Reminders
Just a reminder that we are a ‘Healthy School’ and we have been encouraging the children to eat a range of healthy food. Please support us with this and ensure any snacks that are brought into school are healthy.
We kindly ask that if you have any junk modelling (e.g., cardboard boxes, tubes, cartons, bubble wrap, etc.), could you please donate to our construction area in Reception. The children will have the opportunity to make their own rockets next week so any donations would be much appreciated.
Please can you ensure that the children are reading their school books at home, even if it’s just for five minutes in the evening. Reading journals should be signed to indicate that your child has read. Reading journals are checked every day and books will be changed on a Thursday if they have been signed three times.
All items of clothing should be labelled, especially jumpers, to avoid any uniform going missing.

Overview of Learning
This week the children have enjoyed reading the book ‘Whatever Next’ by Jill Murphy. Next week we will be retelling the story orally, using actions to help them remember it. We will then be creating a story map and writing some sentences to retell it.
Four our maths learning next week, we will explore and consolidate our knowledge of number, including ordering, recognition, formation and correspondence. It is very important that children have a secure knowledge of our number system in order to apply this when completing more complex maths problems.
