Overview of next week’s learning
We will begin our new topic “In the Pond”. We will start with a story about a “Pig in the Pond” which we will be able to enliven with sound effects and by using role play masks around our own classroom pond. We will be getting some tadpoles in the classroom to watch grow into frogs so if you catch any in the holidays please send them in. To develop our listening skills we will have a ‘sound corner’ in the classroom where the children will be able to experiment with musical instruments as well as environmental sounds recorded on buttons. Following on from the Funky Fingers concept, we will have a table of tools which will strengthen our little fingers and arms for mark making. Besides this we will continue with more creative drawing and ‘writing’. With so many opportunities as well as two more learners to welcome to our class, we will be expanding our classroom by taking away the fence and allowing everyone to immerse themselves in the learning environment.
