Message from Secondary

We have come to the end of yet another term packed with exciting learning opportunities. It has been an absolute pleasure to support our students with their learning journey in our Secondary School.

This week the Year 13 students reached yet another important milestone. Following the final submission of their extended essay in November, they have been working on their Theory of Knowledge presentations. This internal assessment task requires students to extract a second order line of inquiry from a real life situation of their choice. They then have to develop and explore this ‘knowledge question’. This is a challenging task. None the less our students handled the presentations with great confidence and a high degree of critical thinking. I look forward to the second day of presentations tomorrow. The next important phase of the IB Diploma Journey takes place after the Christmas holidays with the all-important Mock Examinations and the final submissions of Internal Assessment tasks.

After last week’s STEAM Days, there are a number of exciting events taking place in school this week. On Wednesday we will welcome the parents of the students who will formally receive their IGCSE and Duke Of Edinburgh IA certificates at our annual IGCSE Valediction and International Awards assembly. The event will commence at 13.30pm and the whole of the Secondary School will attend the assembly to celebrate these outstanding achievements. In addition, in order to get into the Christmas spirit, we will have a festively themed non- uniform day. Students may come to school wearing appropriate holiday themed jumpers. The last day of school will be half day. Before students leave for their holidays they will be issued with their Term 1 reports.  These all important progress documents will provide parents with important information about their progress.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our parents and students all the very best for the upcoming holiday.
