Growing up in Hong Kong and Dubai instilled an instant passion within Emma for the international curriculum and travelling. When the opportunity arose to work in a place as exciting as Shanghai in a school as impressive as NAIS Pudong last year, Emma knew she could not pass it up. Emma graduated with an English Literature and Drama degree from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2015 and completed her PGCE in Primary Education with a specialism in English in 2016. She began her teaching career in a small Primary school in the South East of England, teaching Year 3 and leading the History and Geography department. Due to her high level of interest towards the performing arts, Emma ran drama, choir, dance and cheer. After completing three years at the school, Emma made the exciting move to Shanghai and began working in Primary at Nord Anglia Pudong in 2019. She thoroughly enjoys teaching students and creating a classroom that was nurturing, inspiring and focused. Emma utilised her enthusiasm towards theatre when running the Drama Club as well as in her lessons.
Emma believes growing up as an expatriate has helped her develop an open mind and a love for travelling from a young age. She loves exploring different places and experiencing the adventures the different countries have to offer. During her spare time, she can be found either reading or dancing, with a particularly strong interest in hip hop and jazz styles of dance. Emma makes sure she continues to challenge herself in both her personal and professional life.
