Year Five

  • Hannah Smith

    Hannah Smith

    Year 5 Class Teacher

    Hannah Smith

Hannah attended the University of St. Mark and St. John in Plymouth, England to study Primary Education.  After receiving her degree (B’Ed Primary Education with Mathematics), she returned to Kent and took a job in a local primary school as a full time class teacher in Year 5.   She spent two wonderful years there, developing and growing as a teacher.  She chose to specialise in Mathematics at university, as it has been a favourite subject of hers from a young age.

During the Summer between her first and second year teaching, Hannah decided to travel around Europe to visit new places and learn more about different cultures.  She thoroughly enjoyed her time travelling, and this encouraged her to pursue opportunities outside of the UK and Europe.  She has loved meeting new people and expanding her knowledge of the world, and has always wanted to visit and explore China and other areas of Asia.

  • Finan Brad Staff

    Bradley Finan

    Year 5 Class Teacher

    Bradley Finan

Brad’s background was originally in Criminology and Sociology where he gained a BA Hons degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. In his early career, he spent 2 years working in children’s homes and 7 years working as a Youth Offending Officer for Rochdale Youth Offending Team. Both of these roles involved working with children, families, schools and a range of other agencies to prevent offending behaviour and re-integrate children back into the education system.

After becoming involved in charity work for ‘The Shamwari Project’, a local charity offering English lessons to refugees in the UK, Brad decided to pursue education as a full time career. He studied at the University of Sunderland and completed his PGCE. Brad joined NAIS in 2010 and has thoroughly enjoyed becoming immersed in the NAIS community, working alongside wonderful teachers, students and parents. He considers Shanghai as home and looks forward to continuing his journey at NAIS Pudong well into the future.

    Pamela Snow

    Year 5 Class Teacher

    Pamela Snow

After gaining an English language teaching qualification, Pam started her career in Turkey, where she taught English to Turkish children and adults for 3 years.  This gave her the inspiration to gain her primary teaching degree.  She achieved a BA QTS at Canterbury Christchurch University in 2002.  Pam went on to teach for over 12 years in the UK.  She taught across the whole of the primary age range, but mostly with Lower KS2 classes at both good and outstanding schools.  While teaching in the UK, she took on the roles of DT, Science, and ICT Co-ordinator.  Pam joined NAIS Pudong in August 2015 as a Year 4 teacher.  On top of her teaching role, she has also co-ordinated the Student Leadership, which includes School Council Representatives, Play Pals and Lunch-time Club leaders.  Pam really loves being in Shanghai and has felt warmly welcomed by staff, parents and children.
