Andrew began his teaching career in Nottingham, UK, teaching Secondary English. He subsequently taught Year 6 for five years at an international school in Ipoh, Malaysia. In 2016 he took up the position of Year 6 class teacher and Upper Key Stage 2 Leader at NAIS Pudong, and then Assistant Head Teacher in 2017.
Andrew’s proudest achievements include organising the whole year group production of Macbeth, and running a Year 6 fairground fundraiser to make money for the Heart to Heart charity. He is very happy working at NAIS Pudong with a dedicated and caring group of staff. He enjoys working with all ages of children in a variety of subjects and loves the cultural understanding which is possible in a diverse international school. Creating fascination, motivation and enthusiasm in a group of students is what attracted him to the profession, and it continues to be the best part of the job.
In his spare time, Andrew enjoys keeping fit by playing 5-a-side football; he looks forward to playing with a new team in Shanghai. His other sporting interests include jogging, golf and squash. He is an avid traveller, having explored most of Southeast Asia, equipped with his camera and Kindle. He became engaged to his partner Bethany in December 2016 and is looking forward to getting married in the summer of 2018.
