After graduating from Plymouth University with a degree in marine biology Sally was afforded the opportunity to combine her interest in chemistry with marine science through her PhD and a post-doctorate position. It was during her time working in academia teaching undergraduates and in education outreach programmes that Sally found her passion for teaching. Sally subsequently retrained at Bristol University to become a secondary school chemistry teacher before working as a chemistry teacher in the UK teaching both the A level and IB system co-currently as well as co-running the Duke of Edinburgh programme and taking on a variety of other responsibilities. Most recently she has been working in British schools in Madrid as a teacher of chemistry, where she has taken on roles as second in department and then in a more pastoral capacity as student support coordinator.
After teaching in Spain for 5 years Sally is ready for the new challenge of working in an international school in Shanghai and she is very excited by the prospect of once again teaching the IB system.
Sally is an avid traveller and have been lucky enough to visit many countries. She is also very keen on a range of outdoor sports from hiking, climbing, swimming, cycling to scuba diving and kayaking.
