As you know we pride ourselves on identifying and recruiting high quality staff. Since mid-November we have been busy with our rigorous process of skype and face to face interviewing and the taking of verbal and written references and other background checks.
Once again this year our staff turnover is low by international standards at around 17%, but nonetheless it is a significant and very important part of our work.
I like to keep you all as up to date as possible with our staff recruitment for August 2014. I spent two days in London just before Christmas interviewing candidates who applied as a result of adverts we placed in November. We had some very strong fields and from this first round of interviews we have secured nine outstanding new members of staff, six for primary and three for secondary all currently working in very good schools in the UK.
I have returned to London this week with a view to completing our recruitment by the end of the month. Once we have completed the processes we will be posting pen portraits of our new recruits on the website and I will also write and explain a new role we are introducing to the senior management of the school.
Another important area of our community’s work is the securing of places in higher education at colleges and universities around the world. We have a very good record in securing places at universities that are listed in the top 100 and even the top 30 universities worldwide. This again requires a lot of hard work behind the scenes writing personal statements, preparing students for interviews and standard assessment tests. It also requires a lot of networking and time, guiding and supporting parents and students in making the right higher education choices. The hard work of our HE team this year is starting to bear fruit. So far we only have offers in from the UK and some early entry offers from the United States, but nonetheless we already have some prestigious seats of learning on our list.
