Year 4 Inventors Showcase their Work

01 December 2014

This term, Year 4 have been learning about ‘Inventions’ as their themed learning topic. Last week, the children created a showcase to display the incredible inventions that they have made using an electric circuit. Two Year 4 students Ben and Alex, tell us about the day.

  • Year 4 students at the British International School Shanghai Puxi put on an Inventions Showcase to show their work to their parents.

Our parents came along and asked us lots of interesting questions about our inventions. Some of the inventions on display were the Lighting Frisbee, Buzz Light, Winky Bear and Target Game. These were just some of the many inventions on display. We were all sure that our parents were very impressed with their children’s work! Asia Carra’s Mum said the show was “excellent” and Maggie in 4B remarked that “everyone liked my invention and every invention was amazing.”

Year 4 did not only display their inventions, but also showed Leonardo Da Vinci posters, their invention sketch books and explanation texts about electric circuits! Some of the children also showed their parents how to create an electrical circuit and how to make Lego move using computer programming skills.

Mr Jones said “The showcase was the perfect culmination to our inventions topic. All the children were so proud of their inventions and talked to the parents about their work with great enthusiasm and maturity.”
