BISS Puxi Students Succeed in the Cambridge English Young Learners Exams

25 June 2014

As we are an international school, some of our students are not native English speakers and so they have specialist English as an Additional Language (EAL) classes as part of the curriculum to help them quickly develop their English language skills.

  • Our students are presented with their Cambridge Young Learners certificates

Part of this EAL programme engages the children with The Cambridge Young Learners Programme where they can work at three levels; Starter, Mover or Flier. At the end of the year the children are able to sit an official exam (in all language skill areas) produced, marked and assessed by Cambridge University, which gives them an official English language qualification.

Several of our students in Years 2-6 sat this exam earlier this term and we are delighted to have received the results this week showing that they have all achieved highly.

Each child was presented with an official Cambridge University Qualification highlighting the level that they achieved. This means that many children will be moving up a language level and others will no longer need EAL support next year.

Congratulations and well done to you all for your hard work and determination to learn English!
