AMC8 Competition for Year 7, 8 & 9 Now Open

08 October 2015

The American Mathematics Competition (AMC8) is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in Mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills.

  • Year 7, 8 & 9 Mathematics Competition

The AMC provides an opportunity to apply the concepts taught at KS3 to problems which not only range from easy to difficult but also cover a wide range of applications. Many problems are designed to challenge students and to offer problem solving experiences beyond those provided in most KS3 mathematics classes.

Please note:

·         The AMC8 is a voluntary contest for students to participate.

·         The competition for this round is aimed at Years 7, 8 and 9. Students need to be under 14.5 years old on the day of the contest in November.

·         The competition is for students who enjoy Mathematics. The competition can be a little demanding!

·         The deadline for entries is next Thursday 15th October.

Let your Mathematics teacher know, or email Mr Brown if you want to take part.
