Year 1 Create 2D Masterpieces

23 September 2015

Year 1 was very excited recently to learn about the Russian artist, Kandinsky, and the work he produced. The class, having studied some of his abstract works of art, noticed that he used some of the 2D shapes that they had been learning about in Maths.

As a result everyone was very enthusiastic to design their own 2D shapes with Kandinsky’s work as an inspiration.

As you can see from the photos, the class drew some of the 2D shapes using wax crayons and then carefully painted over them. It was a delicate task that took lots of concentration from everyone involved.
