After a wet and windy start our artists got down to business and explored the extensive work on offer in both spaces. Our Year 10 artists were admired by many in the gallery as they sketched and discussed a large scale sculpture of Sunflowers in the Pavillion. It was a great day for all and lots of gorgeous sketchbook work has been created as a result.
On the 24th September I visited the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Hong Kong. The university offered an open day for perspective student, parents and teachers. I was invited to the event by their admissions team and felt it was a wonderful opportunity not to be missed. A number of our IB students attended the event and we were excited to see the campus. They spent the day talking to the tutors, art students as well as being able to take part in one of the practical workshop on offer.
