Year 6 Students Left Spellbound by the Wonders of Macbeth

16 March 2016

Year 6 students were cast under the spell of Macbeth on Monday morning when we started our Shakespeare Topic in Literacy.

Our foul and hideous witches introduced us to the world of Shakespeare by performing the opening scene of Macbeth. We then had the opportunity to ask the three bearded sisters questions as to why they were there and who Macbeth was.

After the amazing performance, we read through Act 1; Scene1 and performed it ourselves in small groups.

‘The show was mystical and when we started acting, our voices croaked like frogs.’  Uditi Ray

‘We learned how to speak in the words of Shakespeare.’ Edruce Noor

‘Everyone was jumping out of their skins at the horrifying witches.’ Iwan Jones

‘So foul and fair – a time I had not seen yet.’ Thijmen Arts

‘One of the most historical acts!’ Karina Arimura

‘It sucked me in like a black hole.’ Aden Wong
