The theme this year was ‘Tales of the Terracotta Warriors’ and some excellent work was produced.
Unfortunately, the competition only allows each school who enters to submit ten entries, and so we had a tough time deciding on which ones to take forward. Among the ten we chose was the work belonging to Qi Yi Choong in 9I who wrote a 1500 word story on the ‘Tales of the Terracotta Warriors’.
We are pleased to announce that Qi Yi’s piece has been shortlisted from the thousands of entries they received. Her work will be published in the book the organisers will produce and she has also been invited to their awards ceremony in Hong Kong on March 22.
The Hong Kong Young Writers competition is an annual event celebrating some of Asia’s best writing talent and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Qi Yi once more.
