10 May 2017

Year 8 went on a trip to downtown Shanghai, to explore different historical places to learn more about the history and culture of our great city.

Students went to five different locations, the Bund and Suzhou Creek, Yuyuan Gardens, XinTianDi and the French Concession and Jing’an. They visited temples, parks and lots of small museums, like the Propaganda Museum, the Post Office Museum and the Battle of Shanghai Museum. They investigated how Shanghai has changed and what still remains of the past. They will then use this research to help them create their play for Historical Fiction Day on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 June. It was a lovely day and students got to explore many places they have not been to before.
