Photographers will be in school next Thursday 17th September to take your child’s photo– in their class and individually. Please ensure that your child is wearing their Cub t-shirt to school on this day.
- CHINESE PROFICIENCY TESTS (HSK & YCT) IN 2015-16
BISS PUXI will be offering two opportunities to take the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) this academic year – in November 2015 and in March/ May 2016. We will also be offering the YCT (Youth Chinese Test) in March / May 2016.We are running the first HSK examination on Saturday 14th November 2015. Registration is now open to parents, primary and secondary students, and friends who have an interest in taking this test. If you wish to register for the HSK examination, please submit your entry form and full payment by Tuesday 13th October 2015. Students will also be given copies of the letters in their Mandarin lessons. Please return all required documentation and cash payment (exact amount) in a sealed envelope clearly marked HSK Test and with your child’s name. This should be submitted to the Uniform Shop in the Primary Parents Hub. Full documentation and payment must be received by Tuesday 13th October 2015. The second round of HSK examinations will take place in March/ April 2016 and we would encourage students in Year 7-10 to take the examination. - PE and swimming are a core part of our curriculum. All children should take part unless they have a note from a doctor or a parent to excuse them. When children are not taking part, we can include them in the lesson as a coach, a referee or to give feedback to others.
- Library Extended Opening Hours: From Monday September 14th the library will be open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30pm for parents to borrow books. Parents register directly with the librarian and are allowed up to five books for a 2 week loan period. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We will continue our leaning theme of “All about Me” .
Last week the children have enjoyed talking about who is in their immediate family and finding out about their friends families.This discussion was stimulated by sharing the family photos with their peers. Thank you to those families who have sent in a photograph. If you have not yet been able to, it is not too late. We would appreciate having a family photo for each child next week as the children will continue to work on some special projects using these photos.
Next week we will be encouraging the children to think about emotions. What makes us happy and what makes us sad? What can we do when other people are feeling sad? What makes you feel angry or cross? We will talk about how we can support each other when conflicts arise. The teachers will model different interactions through role-play with the children , encouraging them to be more aware of how others feel.

PERSONAL SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
This week the children will be learning how we respect our school environment. We will be talking about expected behaviour for different areas of the school and why we have different rules for different places. The children will be encouraged to think about the consequences of their actions.
Key vocabulary : walking feet, walking in a line, indoor voices, quiet places, keeping safe.
Last week the children showed a keen interest in shapes. We will continue to extend their shape knowledge through our planned experiences. We will also include colours encouraging the children to name the primary colours and experiment with colour mixing.

Jules' grootouders komen op bezoek! Het hele huis moet aan kant en de logeerkamer wordt in gereedheid gebracht voor het groot bezoek. We bekijken de stamboom van Jules en praten over onze eigen grootouders. Hierbij komt nieuwe woordenschat in verband met familie aan bod.
We proberen onze grootouders te beschrijven. Welke haarkleur heeft opa? Draag oma een bril?
Op woensdag gaan we naar de bibliotheek. De kinderen mogen een Nederlands boek uitkiezen. Dit boek kan een week gehouden worden. Dank voor uw medewerking hierbij.
We are going to talk about emotions this week. Children are going to explore and show different emotions on their faces. What makes you happy? What will you do if you are sad? They will try to listen to different pieces of music and say how they feel. We will learn new songs : Emotion Song 表情歌（Biao Qing ge）and If You Are Happy 如果感到快乐你就拍拍手（Ru Guo Gan Dao Kuai Le Ni Jiu Pai Pai Shou）
