  • CHINESE PROFICIENCY TESTS (HSK & YCT) IN 2015-16

BISS PUXI will be offering two opportunities to take the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) this academic year – in November 2015 and in March/ May 2016. We will also be offering the YCT (Youth Chinese Test) in March / May 2016. We are running the first HSK examination on Saturday 14th November 2015.  Registration is now open to parents, primary and secondary students, and friends who have an interest in taking this test. If you wish to register for the HSK examination, please submit your entry form and full payment by Tuesday 13th October 2015. Please click http://img.nordangliaeducation.com/resources/asia/_filecache/a7d/d7d/28504-hsk-yct-letter_10_09_2015.pdf to access the forms.  Students will also be given copies of the letters in their Mandarin lessons. Please return all required documentation and cash payment (exact amount) in a sealed envelope clearly marked HSK Test and with your child’s name. This should be submitted to the Uniform Shop in the Primary Parents Hub. Full documentation and payment must be received by Tuesday 13th October 2015. The second round of HSK examinations will take place in March/ April 2016 and we would encourage students in Year 7-10 to take the examination. • PE and swimming are a core part of our curriculum. All children should take part unless they have a note from a doctor or a parent to excuse them. When children are not taking part, we can include them in the lesson as a coach, a referee or to give feedback to others.
  • Junk Modelling - In Pre Nursery, creative play is a big part of our curriculum. Junk modelling is part of this and without the help of parents we can’t quite keep the junk modelling bins full! So, please think of us before throwing away any cereal boxes, shoe boxes, kitchen rolls, egg cartons etc. Your rubbish is our treasure!
  • Library Extended Opening Hours: From Monday September 14th the library will be open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30pm for parents to borrow books. Parents register directly with the librarian and are allowed up to five books for a 2 week loan period. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

OUR LEARNING THEME:  ME AND MY FRIENDS

All our Pre Nursery children have been working very hard to settle into our daily routines and they have demonstrated great confidence by having a go at introducing their family members to their friends and teachers. We are very pleased to see them starting to interact with each other and even starting to join in with each other’s play! Next week we are going to consolidate the great work the children have been doing but with an increased focus on sharing, turn taking and playing together. The children will look at and talk about the photos of themselves working together. The teachers are going to act out scenes of both good and poor examples of these three areas to support children with their understanding. We will also sing a new nursery rhyme ‘The More We Get Together’ to extend the children’s learning.

Key vocabulary: share, take turns, play, together

PERSONAL, SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Let’s play together! A range of activities will be carefully planned to support children with sharing, turn taking and playing together. Can we work together to make lots of flowers to decorate our Home Corner role play area? Can we share glue, tape, brushes and other resources during our collaborative junk modelling activity? Can we actively take turns with a friend to build a tower by using the wooden blocks?

Key vocabulary: flowers, junk modelling, wooden blocks

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

This week the weather has been great and the children have been spending lots of time playing outdoors. They have particularly enjoyed driving the newly arrived cars. Next week lots of plants will be arriving for our garden area so the children will be busy digging, planting and watering them! But please do remember not to water them too often!

Key vocabulary: plant, flower, dig, water, soil

MANDARIN

Our learning theme:me and my friends

We are going to learn how to introdue ourselves and  be brave to say hello to the new  friends.Let them try to sing  songs about friends.

Key words:me-我(wo), friend-朋友(peng you), hello-你好(ni hao)

Song: 找朋友(zhao peng you), 我的朋友在那里(wo de peng you zai na li)

DUTCH

Jules' grootouders komen op bezoek!  Het hele huis moet aan kant en de logeerkamer wordt in gereedheid gebracht voor het groot bezoek.  We bekijken de stamboom van Jules en praten over onze eigen grootouders.  Hierbij komt nieuwe  woordenschat in verband met familie  aan bod.

Op woensdag gaan we naar de bibliotheek.  De kinderen mogen een Nederlands boek uitkiezen.  Dit boek kan een week gehouden worden.  Dank voor uw medewerking hierbij.
